Faustus von Erzenberg

Finally...
If I'm counting right, repainting of this mini took me maybe 18 hours of actual worktime + a shitload of laziness. However - I'm not sure for those 18h, it might be actually less.
Anyway - if I could concentrate on making only this one at a time and not undergoing any other projects (as well as not lacking invention to make them), then I suppose it should have been done in some 1,5-2 weeks time.
And to add one thing - when I'm making models it usually takes a maximum of 4 hours a day.

But it turned out like that, somewhere along the way two Apaches came by, so it's now when Faustus Graf von Erzenberg returns in all his glory!

As for the character's background - it remained unchanged as so far I've no good time in writing. I do plan to expand it a little, but so far if you're interested in the story, check the previous version of this guy :

Long story short - it's just been painted better. Everything is better now, starting with the overall colours. I went with greens trimmed with silver, being just nice and well looking (being as well his "family" colours - that thing would be included in expanded background of this one). Coat is nothing new - I made it leather brown like before (no way I'm gonna take on black leather). There's also a change in approach as I wanted to drag out every possible detail there, so you can see buttons, pins, cable connectors and inquisitorial sigils painted up. As for the latter, I gave them emailed look rather than jewellery one, hence more colourful approach. On the other hand - I grew sick and tired of all this gold and silver I used to did back then, so I muted the style a bit.

Usually, I complain about the flame and the blade. They could be better. In fact I have a feeling that my first attempt ever, was as they call it "accidentally genius" and now when I wanted to make it like this - it's a little worse.
The blade is also not as I fully wanted to. Partially it's due to the fact that this sword is totally messed up, without any actual edge of the blade. It's damn square! I tried to file it down to a sharp condition, but it would've made the whole design come apart. So I just live with it. Blade itself were supposed to be in blues, but instead I thought that some greens a'la Grey Knights would make a fine difference
I think I can d better next time, though I'm not sure if I'll be able to catch up with this blending. Maybe I really should try those lightning bolts instead?

Final varnish were done in a full matt this time (as I usually make half-matt - but that's regarding the armour which is somehow metal) and it really helps this figure a lot! Unlike the previous not matt version which looks (as I'm looking now at the old photos) plain awful.

Base is exactly the same, I only recoloured it.

That's it For some time this is the last WH mini I paint, as I simply need to get the other models done, so I can finally move on. But maybe... I will paint up the sword Brethren to finally finish the repaint stack in my box? That sounds like fun, only those whites...

Jak dobrze podliczę to przemalowanie tej figurki zajęło mi może 18h czasu rzeczywistego i kilka ton lenistwa Ale co do tych 18h - nie jestem pewny, mogło być mniej
Tak czy siak - jeśli potrafiłbym się skupić tylko na nim i nie mieć innych projektów (i przerw w dostawie weny), to podejrzewam, że spokojnie powinienem go zrobić w 1,5 - 2 tygodnie. A dodam, że zwykle jak modeluję, to zajmuje to maksymalnie 4h dziennie.

No ale weny nie starczyło, na takie ciągłe siedzenie, gdzieś w okolicach zaplątały się dwa Apacze (też kończę, ale o problemach z za długim robieniem modeli będzie journal), więc koniec końców dopiero teraz Faustus Graf von Erzenberg w pełni chwały!

Jeśli chodzi o tło, to nic nie zmieniałem - może je poszerzę, ale jakoś pisanie ostatnimi czasy w ogóle nie idzie i rozjeżdża się strasznie, więc jeśli potrzebujecie detali, to zajrzyjcie do poprzedniej wersji tej miniaturki:



Jeśli komuś mało, to poniżej, oficjalne porównanie wersji nowej ze starą (komentarze zbiorczo tutaj, bo jest wygodniej )



Tak w skrócie - wszystko pomalowane i pocieniowane lepiej. Postanowiłem odejść nieco od kanony i ubrać Faustusa w zielenie, która ładnie współgrają z resztą (i są kolorami "rodzinnymi" - jak napiszę coś więcej o nim, to na pewno ten wątek tam wplotę). Płaszcz - tak jak powinno być, czyli skórzany brąz (za czerń raczej się brał nie będę). Do tego, poszedłem nieco inną drogą, chcąc wydobyć prawie każdy dostępny detal - stąd malowanie insygniów Inkwizycji jest bardziej... emaliowe niż biżuteryjne. Inna sprawa, że w poprzedniej wersji był przesyt złota ze srebrem, więc chciałem go trochę stonować.
Jak widać dodałem sporo małych detali jak lamówka na płaszczu, spinki kabli itp.

Jak zwykle mogę trochę ponarzekać na ostrze i płomyk. Wydaje mi się, że poprzednia wersja płomyka przypadkowo wyszła lepiej niż ta malowana celowo... A ostrze... Może w ogóle miałbym więcej chęci do malowania go, gdyby nie było tak tragicznie zrypane, że w ogóle nie posiada ostrej krawędzi. Próbowałem to spiłować do odpowiedniego kształtu, ale cały wzór się wtedy sypie, więc zaniechałem. No niestety. Miecz miał być niebieski, ale stwierdziłem, że zieleń a'la Grey Knights będzie też miłą odmianą Mogłoby być lepiej z tym w sumie, ale jakoś nie mogę uchwycić malowania ostrzy tą metodą. Może jednak trzeba spróbować tych błyskawic?

Dodatkowo, tym razem wszystko jest lakierowane na matowo - w przeciwieństwie do półmatu, który stosuję na zbroje itp (w końcu metal). To już z pewnością pomaga tej figurce, która w półmacie wyglądała okropnie... (jak myślę o niej dzisiaj i widzę zdjęcia )

Podstawka jest jaka była, tylko ma lepszy kolor.

Tyle Na jakiś czas (2-3 modele), to ostatnia figurka Warhammerowa - muszę skończyć to, co mam zaczęte. Jesli poczuję się na siłach, to następny będzie Sword Brethren Black Templarów, który zakończy figurki "zmywane"
